Gero
Gandert looks back on his search for the German film exiles and his
run-in with the STASI when in 1958 he was charged
with "agitating against the state". He secured documents
and entire estates from film legends such as Fritz Lang, Francis Lederer,
Billy Wilder and many more and rendered outstanding services to the
preservation of German Film Heritage. Recently, at age 80, he was
able to witness
the inauguration of his latest creation THE BOULEVARD OF THE STARS
in Berlin.

Commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of the Fall of the Wall

The Wende Museum in collaboration with The Arcadia Trust, German
Information Center, Wash.,DC, Nat'l Endowment for the Humanities,

Ratkovich Company, Turner Construction and UCLA Library as well as

organisations including the LA-Berlin Sister City Committee, other
cultural institutions and governmental agencies will recreate segments
of
the Berlin Wall which will be joined together to symbolically form
'The
Wall Across Wilshire'. Angelenos and visitors will enjoy an afternoon
